Gifting to others
If you have a young adult child. Surely what every child wants for the holidays! While not the sexiest gift, it could prove one of the most useful. View specials #2 and #3 below, and even if those do not fit for you, contact us and let us know what you would like to gift.
If your children are over the age of 18, you will no longer be able to make healthcare or financial decisions for them. Perhaps you want to consider paying for them to nominate a power of attorney and health care agent to make decisions should they become incapacitated? (#2 below). They of course get to make the decision about who to name, but at least they will have someone they love and trust named to make decisions.
If you have recently become a grandparent, you may want to help your children nominate guardians in case something happens to them. View special #1 and #3 below. This is on the to-do list of many new parents, but getting around to it is often delayed. (We have worked with many parents of 13 and 15 year olds who were planning to get an estate plan in place since the day they were born). You could help them along immensely by purchasing some or all of a plan for them!
With these thoughts in mind, here are some special holiday offers:
- Free Kids Protection Plan: Our kids protection plan allows parents with minor children to nominate guardians to raise their kids if they cannot. It also includes short-term guardianship nominations to ensure that there are local individuals they trust to step in immediately in the event of an emergency if the long term guardians are farther away. Normally our Kids Protection Plan costs $500, but if you gift a plan by December 15th, 2021, we are offering it as an additional add-on for free! To book this options, see “Gifting Logistics” below.
2. Young-adult incapacity planning 25% off : Allow your children to name people to make business and healthcare decisions for them if they cannot for just $150 per child! (If you read our newsletter, you will know that we talk about the importance of these documents regularly! And here is a podcast on the topic). You must contact us before December 15, 2021. Normally we reserve this service only for clients, and charge $250 per person.
3. Gifting Logistics: If you are interested in either of these options to gift to others, or a full plan, call us at 907-312-5436 or email Alex@lizsmithlaw.com. We will work with you to figure out what you would like to gift and to create customized certificates for your loved ones that you can wrap up nicely to notify them of your gift.
